About the job

Purpose of the role:

To undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial/management reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and be responsible for the management of the finance function, including delivering a value added function, providing budget and monitoring systems and ensuring internal stakeholders have the tools to manage their own budgets, payroll and transactional agreements. Responsible for increasing the awareness of the business partnering function between finance and the wider business. This role has the option for some remote working, which can be discussed at interview.

Requirements For the Role:

  • Manage all accounting and finance operations to include payroll, billing, purchase ledger, finance business partnering, cash book, asset accounting, general ledger etc.
  • Business partnering with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Key player in driving change & business improvement in a commercial environment.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and forecasts including reporting and analysis of variances.
  • Prepare, publish and present accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements, to include profit and loss statements, balance sheet, year-end accounts & commentary, etc.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting documents including HMRC
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards and internal procedures
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assist in the overall development of improved financial & commercial awareness throughout the organisation

Desired competencies/skills:

  • Relevant Professional Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Appropriate post-qualification experience within the field of accounting and finance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and convince all stakeholders; Directors, operational and strategic partners.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting standards and reporting requirements
  • Experience of creating and presenting effective financial reports and analyses
  • Experience of creating and publishing year-end statements and audit processes and requirements
  • Advanced ICT skills and data analysis & presentation techniques
  • Experience of effectively managing a team
